Sorry, but this and the previous post are not in the correct order.
In Jenner, we took a morning walk near the delta of the Russian River. On Friday, when driving, we had seen a male and female NORTHERN HARRIER (sorry, no picture). In the evening, we had roused the whole police and fire departments of Bodega Bay and Jenner by setting of Thailand Fire Balloons. We started the walk by seeing a gorgeous GREAT BLUE HERON, but across the river.
We then proceeded to observe a TURKEY VULTURE sitting on top of a telephone pole.
As we neared the ocean, a plethora of DOUBLE CRESTED CORMORANTS and WESTERN GULLS met our eyes. We then saw two COMMON MERGANSERS and a COMMON GOLDENEYE.
There were also two T.V.'s sitting on the roof of a cabin below us, that I first thought were turkeys.
A fine morning birdwalk on the Russian River!
